More than 9,000 builders, electricians, bankers and others involved in the homebuilding industry attended the 34th annual Builder Mart at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium on Wednesday.

John Kortecamp, executive vice president of the Home Builders Association of Maryland, which sponsors the event, said more than 500 exhibitors displayed their wares, which were as diverse as fireplaces and electrical systems.

The Builder Mart draws members of the building industry from Maryland, Delaware, Virginia and Pennsylvania.

The state homebuilders association, one of the nation's oldest, represents builders and others throughout the area.

Dan Ball of D.E. Ball Remodeling Inc. in York, Pa., called the show a chance to "see what's new on the market."
