DOROTHEA LEA BAKER, age 73, of Kokomo, Indiana, died on Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at St. Joseph Hospital and Health Care Center, Kokomo, Indiana. She was born February 18, 1931 in Howard County, daughter of Donald Hull and Mabel (Broman) Elson. wife of Dale Ray Sanders, who preceded her in death. She then married William Thomas Baker in 1964. In 1971 she worked at Montgomery Plaza Liquors where she was general manager, she retired in February of 2001. She attended Kokomo High School. She was President of Maryland Liquor Stores Association from 1984-1989; Board of Directors - National Liquor Stores Association from 1984-1989. She was retailer of the year in 1983; Member of Women in Wine Association and a member of Epiphany Lutheran Chruch in Ellicott City, MD. She enjoyed reading, traveling and loved her grandchildren. She is survived by daughter & son-in-law Janis & David Massengill of Kokomo, IN, Daughter & son-in-law, Karen & Terry Tomson of Denver, IN, Son & daughter-in-law Donald & Joni Sanders of Kokomo, IN; daughter & son-in-law Barbara & Michael Burk of Baltimore, MD.; brother Donald Elson and his companion Muriel Tolf, both of Tucson, AZ.; brother and sister-in-law: Karl & Betty Elson of Kokomo, IN; sisters: Shirley Adair of Kokomo, IN, and Phyllis Pollard of Greentown, IN. She was preceded in death by one daughter and one brother. Friends may call the Ellers Mortuary Wesbster St. Chapel, 3400 Webster St., Kokomo, IN. Sunday, 3-5pm. Service Monday, March 29, 10 A.M. at the above chapel. Pastor Steve Beutler officiating. Interment Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery in Kokomo, Indiana. Memorials may be made to We Care, 519 N.
