On Tuesday, March 23, 2004, PATRICIA LYNN FLANIGAN, age 54, died peacefully in her home after a 3 year battle with ovarian cancer. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, gourmet cook and avid golfer. She enjoyed decorating, cooking, shopping, casinos, camping, crabbing, skiing and the outdoors. She was born August 14, 1949 in Baltimore, Maryland, and was the daughter of the late William Baker Hughes and the late Mary Ann O'Brian. Mrs. Flanigan graduated from Severna Park High School, and lived most of her life in the Glen Burnie area except for a six-year period in the late 1970s and early 1980s when she lived in Bad Aibling, Germany. She was a devout mother of two adult sons and two grandchildren. She will be remembered for her positive attitude, a great sense of humor, and her devotion to her family. She was an inspiration to all and will be forever remembered. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Lester of Glen Burnie; son William De Baugh, wife Beth and granddaughter Abbey of Annapolis; son Lester Flanigan Jr., wife Yolanda and grandson Jacob, of Dover, DE. She is also survived by sister Elizabeth (Betsy) Bayne of Glen Burnie, sister Mary Lee Staniford of Pasadena, MD, sister Beverly Davis, of Severna Park, brother William B. Hughes, Jr. of Sparks, Nev., and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors at the Singleton Funeral Home, P.A., 1 Second AVenue, S.W. (at Crain Highway) Glen Burnie from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M. on Friday. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Home Care Hospice Services Foundation, 10200 Old Columbia Road, Suite MN, Columbia, MD 21046.
