"Augsburg Lutheran Home Volunteer, Passes Away."Suddenly On Sunday March 21, 2004 LUCIE M. FOSTER, of Severna Park, MD. Her life was one of service. Since 1945 she volunteered at Augsburg Lutheran Home and Village in many capacities. She ran the gift shop, served on the Board of Directors as well as planning many of the activities and fund raisers that occurred there. In addition to her volunteer work, Lucie served her God and community through her Church, Holy Nativity Lutheran Church in Arbutus, MD where she held many positions on various boards and committees even serving as a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was also active in the Lutheran Women's Mission League and within the South Eastern District of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. Lucie was born and raised in Tampa, Kansas in 1916 where her faith was deeply rooted. Her father donated a portion of his farm to the community for the location of St. John's Lutheran Church where she was baptized and confirmed. At age 17 she moved to Baltimore, MD where she met Clarence Foster, who preceded her imn death. They were married and raised their family primarily in Arbutus, MD. As wife; grandmother; great-grandmother; aunt or friend she was a dear influence to all who knew her. Whether serving in her various interests, remembering the birthdays of those she loved or lending a compassionate ear she will be greatly missed. Viewing will be held on Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Ambrose Funeral Home in Arbutus. Serices will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Holy Nativity Lutheran Church. Interment at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Violetville. In lieu of flowers, Lucie left a request for donations to made to the Clarence and Lucie Foster Memorial Fund at Holy Nativity Lutheran Church, 1200 Linden Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21227.
