Annapolis police have arrested four local men in connection with yesterday's early morning shooting of an Eastport man.

Michael Lee Davis, 22, was found in the 1300 block of Tyler Ave. around 2 a.m. yesterday with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. He was flown to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was listed in critical condition yesterday.

Davis was standing with a group of people in the Robinwood housing community when several men got out of a Buick and asked if anyone had marijuana, police said.

When one person in the group produced several bags, one of the car's passengers snatched them and robbed another group member of money at gunpoint. After that, one of the car's occupants began firing his weapon for unknown reasons, and one of the bullets struck Davis.

The Buick drove off, stopped on Woods Drive, and then the four occupants tried to run away, but officers caught up with them.

The four charged are James Leroy Downs, 24, of Annapolis; Wilmer Anderson Rendon, 19, of Mount Rainier; Earl Mangus Victor, 17, of Hyattsville, who was charged as an adult; and Sesame Demon Sorrells, 21, of Hyattsville. All are charged with first-degree assault, armed robbery and use of a handgun in committing a violent crime, police said.
