Trees to be moved from Rowe Blvd.

March 25, 2004

The State Highway Administration this week is relocating 57 trees from Rowe Boulevard near the Weems and College Creek bridges to the Maryland World War II Memorial overlook by Route 450 just east of the Naval Academy Bridge near Ritchie Highway.

The trees - which include crape myrtle, red maple and willow oak in the median - are being moved for the rebuilding of the two bridges. New trees and shrubs will be planted along Rowe Boulevard after the bridge improvement is completed in summer 2006.

The tree relocation has been contracted to Ace Tree Movers of Gaithersburg.
