COMING UP

Celebrate 183 years of Greek independence at the annual Greek Independence Day Mid-Atlantic Parade. More than 80 marching groups, including the Naval Academy Midshipmen and the Marine Corps marching band, will be on hand at the 2 p.m. event.

Local politicians and personalities will also be in attendance.

The parade starts on Eastern Avenue at Haven Street in Greektown, proceeds east, turning right on Ponca Street and ends near St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, at 520 S. Ponca St. For more information, call 410-625-4735 or visit www.greekparade.com.
