Blast succumbs on road to Fury in 6-5 OT loss

MONTERREY, Mexico - In the second of back-to-back road games this weekend, the Blast lost, 6-5, to the Monterrey Fury in overtime last night at the Monterrey Arena. Walter Gomez scored the game-winner for the Fury.

Blast leading scorer Carlos Farias scored just 28 seconds into the game and Chris Handsor scored 18 seconds later for a 2-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. Monterrey tied it in the second quarter and went on to score four unanswered goals to take a 4-2 lead at the end of the third quarter.

Lee Tschantret, Farias and Giuliano Celenza scored in the final quarter to tie the game at 5-5 and force overtime. Gomez's goal sent the Blast back home with a 23-10 record and four games remaining in the regular season.
