The crime report is a sampling of crimes in Howard County compiled from police. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 410-313-3700.

East Columbia

Basket Ring Road: 9600 block, Oakland Mills. Someone broke an apartment's front window, entered and stole video game systems, games and game system accessories the afternoon of Feb. 26.

Phelps Luck Drive/Luckpenny Place: Long Reach. A man told police that three people assaulted him near a pond and stole his wallet about 11:30 a.m. Feb. 27.

Dobbin Road: 6500 block, Owen Brown. A woman was getting into her vehicle on a parking lot when two men approached about 10 p.m. Feb. 28 and placed a gun on her shoulder. They demanded her purse, grabbed it and her keys and fled on foot.

Stevens Forest Road: 5700 block, Oakland Mills. Someone entered an apartment and stole a video game system Feb. 27. A witness had seen a suspicious person knocking on the apartment door earlier.

Old Dobbin Lane/Millrace Court: Long Reach. Three men in their late teens approached a man from behind and tackled him about 9:30 p.m. March 5. They stole his wallet, cellular phone and portable compact disc player.

Hickory Log Circle: 7400 block. Two men assaulted two boys about 5:30 p.m. March 6. One was shoved to the ground, and an electronic hand-held game system was taken from the other.

Ellicott City/Elkridge

Oak Green Circle: 3000 block, Ellicott City. A man told police his third-floor apartment was broken into after he returned home to find an unsecured deadbolt lock Feb. 27. Cash, jewelry and computer equipment were stolen.

Parsley Drive: 9400 block, Ellicott City. Between 1 p.m. and 10 p.m. Feb. 27, someone smashed a rear bedroom window, entered a home and disabled a motion-sensor light. Cash and coins were taken.

Snowmill Court: 2700 block, Ellicott City. Someone entered a home through an unlocked patio door and stole a videocassette recorder between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Feb. 27.

Baltimore National Pike: 8400 block, Ellicott City. A man got out of a Honda Accord and exposed himself to a person leaving a bar about 9 p.m. March 2. He then grabbed the person by the neck, pulling the victim into a dark part of a parking lot. The person fought off the assailant and got away.

Baltimore National Pike: 8500 block, Ellicott City. A man entered a Shell gas station about 9 p.m. March 7, handed the clerk a plastic bag and a note demanding money and implied that he had a weapon. The clerk put money into the bag, and the man fled on foot. The clerk followed the robber, who turned around and fired two shots from a handgun. The clerk, who was not injured, called police.

Montgomery Road: 4300 block, Ellicott City. A young man and a woman were arguing over a traffic violation about noon March 6. As the young man was walking away, he exposed his buttocks to the woman. Police charged a juvenile with indecent exposure.

Bonnie Branch Road: 5000 block, Ellicott City. Someone stole a John Deere tractor from an open garage March 10.

N. Laurel/Savage/Jessup

River Island Drive: 8900 block, Savage. Three men wearing dark clothes robbed a Papa John's pizza employee after he made a delivery after 11 p.m. March 7. The men, who wore masks, demanded the victim's money, hit him with an unknown object and stole an unspecified amount of cash.

Western Howard

Wetherburn Road: 10400 block, Woodstock. Two Yamaha dirt bikes were stolen from an unsecured garage between March 7 and 10.
