Mortgage brokers expo begins Tuesday at Convention Center

The Maryland Association of Mortgage Brokers will hold its annual conference and exposition Tuesday and Wednesday at the Baltimore Convention Center.

About 1,000 people are expected to attend, said Traci Snyder, the group's associate director.

A dinner and a members' meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. All day Wednesday, there will be seminars and an exhibition that will connect mortgage brokers with 130 vendors, Snyder said.

Homebuyer workshop Saturday in Lutherville

The Greater Baltimore Board of Realtors will hold a free homebuyer workshop next weekend.

The event is scheduled for 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at 1306 Bellona Ave. in Lutherville. Pre-registration is recommended. Call 410-337-7200.

Harford Realtors name Bowen to liaison post

The Harford County Association of Realtors has named Carol L. Bowen government affairs director.

In the new part-time position, Bowen will monitor and address legislation relating to real estate in the area. Bowen is a full-time associate broker with the Bel Air-Abingdon office of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage.

Agent training session offered by HARBEL

The HARBEL Housing Partnership, a nonprofit homeownership education and counseling program, will hold a free training session for agents from 10:30 a.m. to noon March 30 at the White Marsh library.

The session is designed for real estate agents who are working with clients interested in buying homes in Northeast Baltimore or the Baltimore County communities between York Road and Interstate 95.
