No. 3 UM women rout Brown, 21-6

Kelly Coppedge scored seven goals to lead the third-ranked Maryland women's lacrosse team past Brown, 21-6, yesterday in Providence, R.I.

Coppedge scored her first two goals during a 5-0 Terps run. She added three more in the first half as Maryland (4-2) took an 11-3 lead at the half.

Sarah Passano led the Bears (1-1) with two goals.

No. 4 Loyola 11, Delaware 8: Talia Shacklock scored four goals and Rachel Shuck had two goals and five assists to power the host Greyhounds (4-1) over the Blue Hens (1-3) at Geppi-Aikens Field.

No. 17 Johns Hopkins 12, Ohio University 4: Heidi Pearce scored a game-high four goals to power the host Blue Jays (4-0, 2-0 American Lacrosse Conference) past the Bobcats (2-2, 0-1) at Homewood Field.

Frostburg State 11, Queens University 10: Page Macey netted her sixth goal, the game-winner, in the 73rd minute to lift the visiting Bobcats (3-0) over the host Royals (3-4) in sudden-death overtime in Charlotte, N.C.


Messiah 12, McDaniel 9: Kevin Dennstaedt scored five goals to lift the visiting Falcons (1-1) over the Green Terror (1-3) in Westminster.

McDaniel - led by Rob Weaver with two goals and three assists - closed within 9-8 in the fourth quarter before Messiah scored three goals to seal the victory.
