On March 3, 2004, JAMES S. DUDLEY, 57, lost his struggle with Melanoma Cancer at his home in Port Deposit. Mr. Dudley was born in Baltimore, MD on June 10, 1946. He graduated from Westminster High School and earned a BA degree from Frostburg State College in 1968. He taught music at Bainbridge Elementary, he was the choir director at the Bainbridge Naval Training Center; he was also the choral director at the Rising Sun High School and the Rising Sun Middle School. He taught for 35 years. In addition to his love of music, he was actively involved and enjoyed sports. He coached Little League Baseball and YMCA basketball. James truly cared about all people, especially his family, friends and students. He is survived by his parents, Allen and Caroline Dudley, of Hanover, PA; his wife of 34 years, Karen Dudley; son, William Dudley; daughter, Caroline Dudley, both of Port Deposit; brother, John Dudley, of St. Petersburg, FL; sister, Janet Dudley-Eshbach, of Salisbury, MD. A Memorial Service will be held at Rising Sun Middle School on April 24, 2004, at 11 A.M. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions can be made to the James S. Dudley Music Scholarship Fund, Rising Sun Middle School, 289 Pearl Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911.
