Tigers improve to 1-1

Towson - No. 17 Towson cruised to a 12-2 win over Providence Sunday at Unitas Stadium, improving to 1-1 on the season.

The Tigers got two-goal games from Jonathan Engelke, Drew Pfarr, Brian Meyers and Steve Mull. Kevin Rutledge added a pair of assists.

Towson won 14 of 18 faceoffs on the afternoon, led by a 10-for-13 performance by midfielder Ben DiFeliece.

The Tigers return to action next Saturday afternoon, when they travel to College Park to face No. 2 Maryland.
