Miller is hired to guide land use, environment

Robert D. Miller will serve as Anne Arundel County's new land use and environment officer, County Executive Janet S. Owens announced Friday.

Miller has served as the director of the Environmental Services and Waste Management Program for the Maryland Environmental Service since 1995. He has held several environmental jobs with state and federal agencies.

He fills a vacancy left when Robert Walker became the county's chief administrative officer. Miller is scheduled to begin his new job tomorrow. The Davidsonville resident will earn a salary of $110,000.
