Jeanne B. Green, a retired office manager and avid boater, died of cancer Saturday at the Parkview at Bel Air retirement community. She was 73.

She was born Jeanne Thum in Germantown, Pa., and earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from Temple University in Philadelphia. In 1949, she married Walter M. Orenshaw, a bank manager who died in 1965.

The next year, she married businessman Robert L. Green, and from 1980 to 1996 was office manager for two of his enterprises, Columbia Record & Tape Collector in Forest Hill and Roach Proofing Exterminating Co. Earlier, she had driven a Harford County school bus for several years.

During the 1970s, the couple lived in Joppatowne. In the early 1980s, they lived aboard their 42-foot sloop, Good Times, which was docked at Maryland Marina in Bowleys Quarters. After selling the boat in 1996, they moved to Daytona Beach, Fla., returning to Bel Air last year.

Mrs. Green was a former communicant of Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church in Joppa. She had been active in Democratic politics and was a former member of the auxiliary of the Joppatowne Lions Club.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mountain Christian Church, 1824 Mountain Road, Joppa.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Green is survived by two sons, Dean R. Green of Towson and Dale W. Green of Bel Air; two daughters, Diane M. Hohman of Fallston and Dana L. Amato of Essex; a stepson, Robert Green of Dundalk; and six grandchildren. Another daughter, Donna L. Green, died in 1999.
