HOWARD CRIME REPORT

The crime report is a sampling of crimes in Howard County compiled from police. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 410-313-3700.

East Columbia

Airy Brink Lane: 8700 block, Long Reach. A man walking from the parking lot to his apartment late Feb. 23 was approached from behind by a man who demanded money after displaying a handgun. The thief stole cash and fled on foot.

Basket Ring Road: 9600 block, Oakland Mills. Someone broke an apartment's front window to gain entry and stole video game systems, video games and game system accessories Thursday afternoon.

West Columbia

Windsor Court: 6600 block, Hickory Ridge. Someone used a hammer to break a home's rear window and steal money and alcohol about 8 p.m. Feb. 24.

Ellicott City/Elkridge

Washington Blvd.: 7700 block, Elkridge. Someone forced open the front door and stole clothing and cash between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Feb. 23.

N. Laurel/Savage/Jessup

Rappahannock Ave. and Assateague Drive: Jessup. A truck driver parked on Rappahannock Ave. was approached by a woman with a knife who demanded money late Feb. 24. He gave her money, and then the two fought. She cut the driver on the finger, but he was able to retrieve his money and drive away. Police found and arrested a 48-year-old woman.

Mountain Laurel Way: 9700 block, North Laurel. Someone entered a home through a rear sliding door and stole a television, laptop computer, word processor and digital video discs Feb 25.

Western Howard

Frederick Road: 16500 block, Lisbon. Someone entered a home through an unlocked kitchen window and stole cash between 7 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Feb. 24

Frederick Road: 12500 block, West Friendship. Someone entered a home through an unlocked rear door and stole digital video discs, video game systems and video games between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Feb. 24.
