Dawud Drew scored seven of his 21 points in overtime to lead CCBC-Dundalk to an 84-75 victory over Chesapeake College (21-9) yesterday in the opening round of the Region XX National Junior College Athletic Association Division II men's basketball tournament in Hagerstown.
The Lions (14-14) advanced to today's 3 p.m. semifinal against Baltimore City Community College, a 64-62 victory over CCBC-Catonsville (19-9) yesterday.
Kevin Mosely scored 16 points for CCBC-Dundalk.
Frostburg State 57, Pittsburgh-Greensburg 51: Ryan Grabill scored 13 points to power Frostburg State (16-12) past Pittsburgh-Greensburg (14-13) in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference tournament semifinal in Erie, Pa.
The Bobcats will face La Roche (14-14) at 3 today in the final.
Women
Pittsburgh-Greensburg 66, Frostburg State 64: Jen Smith hit a three-pointer with 1:05 left as Pittsburgh-Greensburg (22-5) edged Frostburg State (16-11) in an AMCC tournament semifinal in Erie, Pa.
Tracey Little led Frostburg with 24 points.
Hood 68, College of Notre Dame 48: Rita Willis (18 points) scored six points over the final six minutes and the Blazers (19-7) went 6-for-6 from the free-throw line to defeat the Gators (14-12) in an Atlantic Women's Colleges Conference tournament semifinal in Chambersburg, Pa.
Danielle Allen led Hood with 20 points. Julia Bachman and Brynn Miscavige each scored 10 for the College of Notre Dame.
