Correction

February 28, 2004

Because of an editing error, an article in The Sun on Sunday inaccurately described the firearms banned by a federal law expiring in September as "automatic." In fact, all the guns banned are semi-automatic, meaning they fire a single shot each time the trigger is pulled.

The Sun regrets the error.
