John A. Eberhardt, 61, sales representative

John A. Eberhardt, a retired sales representative and general manager for a Pikesville foundry, died of cancer Feb. 21 at Quail Run assisted-living facility in Crofton. He was 61.

Mr. Eberhardt was born in Teaneck, N.J., and raised in Davidson, N.C. He attended what is now McDaniel College in Westminster and served in the Navy from 1961 to 1964.

He was a salesman for Flynn & Emrich, a Baltimore iron-casting company, from 1965 to 1976. He joined Foundry Services and Supplies Co. of Pikesville in 1976. He retired because of failing health in 2000.

Mr. Eberhardt, who lived in Millers, was an avid gardener and enjoyed rhododendrons.

In 1982, he married Patricia Janes, who died last year. His marriage to the former Patricia Ryan ended in divorce.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at St. James Episcopal Church, 3101 Monkton Road, Monkton.

He is survived by a son, Shaun Eberhardt of Hanover, Pa.; two daughters, Sharon Eveland of Hanover, Pa., and Christina Eberhardt of McSherrystown, Pa.; a stepson, Mark Lorenzo of Parkton; a stepdaughter, Amy Lorenzo of White Hall; two brothers, David M. Eberhardt of Baltimore and the Rev. Timothy Eberhardt of Randolph, Vt.; a sister, Mary Holtzman of Parkton; and two grandchildren.
