Terps this week

February 27, 2004

A look back

The Terps ended a three-game losing streak, capped by Sunday's 86-63 drubbing at Duke, with a 70-49 victory over Clemson on Tuesday. It marked Maryland's 13th straight victory over the Tigers, headed for another last-place finish.

A look ahead

Maryland most likely needs to win two of its last three games to keep its NCAA tournament hopes alive. That means the Terps probably must beat visiting Wake Forest tomorrow.

By the numbers

Maryland senior center Jamar Smith and sophomore forward Nik Caner-Medley are fading at the wrong time. In his past three games, Smith is averaging 5.7 points and Caner-Medley (scoreless against Clemson) 6.3.
