On Tuesday February 24, 2004, WILLIAM M. HART, well-known Eastern Shore banker died at his home in Trappe, Maryland. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Joanne; a son, Alex and his wife Debra of Woodstock, MD; a sister, Mary Verona Pryor and her husband Philip of Salisbury, MD; a brother-in-law, Thomas Loposer of Greenville, TX; a niece, four nephews, several cousins, great nieces and nephews. After serving in the U.S. Air Force, Mr. Hart returned to Cambridge, MD, where he advanced to the presidency of Farmers and Merchants National Bank. Soon after its merger with First National Bank of MD, he took an early retirement and completed his career with the National Bank of Cambridge at the Hurlock, Maryland, office. Mr. Hart was active in all facets of civic life in Dorchester County as well as Maryland Bankers Assn. and American Bankers Assn. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2004, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Main St., Trappe MD.
