A photo caption in yesterday's metro sections incorrectly identified Montgomery County Del. Richard S. Madaleno Jr. as Del. John Adams Hurson.

An article in Wednesday's editions on struggling school districts incorrectly described the job of a California official. Jack O'Connell is the California state superintendent for public instruction, and he appointed Randolph Ward as the state administrator of the Oakland School District.

In an article in Tuesday's editions, George F. Johnson IV, the Anne Arundel County sheriff, was misidentified as the county police chief.

A reference to the cast in the review of The Passion of the Christ in Wednesday's Today section transposed the names of the two lead actresses. Monica Bellucci played Mary Magdalene, not Mary, and Maia Morgenstern played Mary, not Mary Magdalene.
