Roseti's big night boosts Navy women over Colgate

She hits 1,000-point level in Mids' 68-53 victory

Adrienne Roseti recorded her fifth double double (14 points, 11 rebounds) and scored her 1,000th career point as the Navy women's team defeated visiting Colgate, 68-53, at Alumni Hall last night.

Roseti was 12 of 14 in the second half and became the 13th player in school history to score 1,000 career points.

The Mids (11-2, 5-6 Patriot League) shot 48.1 percent from the field and held the Raiders (15-9, 7-4), the highest-scoring team in the league at 72.7 points per game, to 30.8 percent shooting, including 1-for-11 from three-point range.

Milaina Lagzdins led Colgate with 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Drexel 74, Towson 67: Katrina Martin scored 22 points to power the host Dragons (10-13, 7-7) past the Tigers (9-14, 1-13 Colonial Athletic Association) in Philadelphia.

Drexel shot 53.3 percent from the field to take a six-point lead at the half, 37-31.

Mia Spasowska finished with 21 points for Towson.

Niagara 73, Loyola 59: The host Purple Eagles (17-8, 11-5 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) - led by Eva Cunningham and Colleen Toetz with 21 points each - scored 48 points in the second half to overtake the Greyhounds (11-13, 7-8) in Niagara Falls, N.Y.

Katie Scherle scored 15 for Loyola.

Men

District of Columbia 88, Bowie State 87: Rasheim Wright (30 points) made a free throw with less than a minute to play to lift the host Firebirds (17-8) over the Bulldogs (22-4) in Washington.

Bowie's Anton Jenifer led all scorers with 33 points.
