Edgar B. Rouse, 87, sales representative

Edgar Brinton Rouse, a retired sales representative for Chemetron Corp. and former Homeland resident, died Tuesday of complications from a stroke at a hospital in Lynchburg, Va. He was 87.

Mr. Rouse was born and raised in Baltimore and was a 1935 graduate of McDonogh School. He attended the University of Maryland, where he played lacrosse and was a member of Kappa Alpha Order.

Mr. Rouse, who was known as Pat, served in the Army from 1942 to 1946 as a member of the military staff at Pennsylvania State University in State College. He was a member of the American Legion.

He had worked for 24 years as Washington representative of Chemetron's medical products division, retiring in 1976. He moved to Lynchburg in 1990.

His wife of 28 years, the former Marie Macdonald, died in 1987.

Graveside services will be held at noon today at Druid Ridge Cemetery, Park Heights Avenue and Old Court Road, Pikesville.

He is survived by his stepdaughter, Nancy Burch Hunter of Lynchburg; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
