An article yesterday about a soldier's suicide misstated a veterans group's estimate of how many veterans of the Iraq war have killed themselves in the United States. The National Gulf War Resource Center says that seven to 10 of 67 stateside suicides by military personnel last year involved Iraq war veterans, and that the number could be higher. The Army says 21 soldiers have committed suicide in Iraq or Kuwait but has not said how many did so after leaving the war theater.

An article in yesterday's editions gave an incorrect address for the church where Ashley M. Samuels' funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Solid Rock Freewill Baptist Church is at 7 E. North Ave., Baltimore.

Also, the article gave the wrong day for Rachel M. Betts' funeral. It is scheduled for 10 a.m. tomorrow at Schimunek Funeral Home, 9705 Belair Road, Perry Hall.

In yesterday's editions, it was reported incorrectly that Wilde Lake High School forfeited its 2003 football season because of an ineligible player on its roster. In fact, Wilde Lake forfeited seven games in which the ineligible player participated. Its record has been changed to 2-8 overall and 2-7 in Howard County league play.

In Tuesday's editions, information regarding records set at the Class 2A-1A state indoor track and field championships was incorrect. Because Oakland Mills High School is classified as a Class 1A school, Tony Cole is credited with breaking only the Class 1A state record in the 55-meter dash and not the Class 2A record in the 300. Similarly, Oakland Mills' 800 and 1,600 relay teams will not be credited with breaking Class 2A records.

Also, since Glenelg High School is considered a Class 2A school, Drew Graybeal is credited with breaking only the Class 2A state record in the 500 and not the Class 1A record in the 800.

The Sun regrets the errors.
