Senior attackman Andy Arnold had five goals and two assists and senior midfielder Andy Murray added three goals and an assist to lead defending national champion Salisbury to a 20-3 nonconference win over host Virginia Wesleyan in the season opener for both teams.
The Sea Gulls took a 10-2 lead into the break and scored the first seven goals of the second half to take a 17-2 lead midway through the fourth quarter. The Sea Gulls outshot the Marlins 60-18 in the game and controlled 22 of 27 faceoffs, including 13 of 14 attempts by Murray.
