Political leaders, business people to get together

The Baltimore/Washington Corridor Chamber of Commerce will hold a reception for state senators, delegates and county executives from Anne Arundel, Howard, Montgomery and Prince George's counties from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Anne Arundel County public schools' Green Street Center, 188 Green St., Annapolis.

The event - sponsored by Baylights Compensation Consulting LLC, Citizens National Bank, Constellation Energy Group, FiveL Company, Marketing Outsource Associates, PBS&J, The Show Place Arena and Verizon - will provide an opportunity for business leaders to share their views on important issues that affect business. The cost is $25 in advance for members; $30 at the door for members and nonmembers.

Hammond Middle PTA seeks sponsors for bingo

The Hammond Middle School PTA seeks business and community sponsors for its second Basket and Pottery Bingo, scheduled for 1 p.m. March 28 at the American Legion Post in Laurel.

Funds raised from the event will help pay for the school's cultural arts program, outdoor education and the eighth-grade dance.

Grayson Homes wins housing-quality award

The National Association of Home Builders Research Center has named Ellicott City-based Grayson Homes as the recipient of the Silver Housing Quality Award.

Panels of experts evaluated the quality of Grayson's construction, business management, sales, design and warranty service.

The silver category was the organization's top national award this year.
