Helm, Edmond Warner

On Tuesday, February 3, 2004, at the Naples Community Hospital with family and friends my his bedside, EDMOND WARNER HELM, 70, a retired Baltimore City Police Officer and a resident of Naples, FL. Ed was born January 2, 1934, in Baltimore, Md, the son of the late Snively Arthur Helm and Lula Alma Bristow Helm. He graduated from Forest Park High School, was a U.S. Navy veteran during the Korean conflict, and served in the Baltimore City Police Dept.from 1957 until retiring in 1978. He came to Naples in 1996 from Baltimore. He was known as a man who loved and enjoyed people and always was there to lend a helping hand to his fellow man. Ed will be greatly missed and we can only hope that his example to help others will inspire us. The family thanks all their friends for their prayers and support. He is survived by his loving wife Sandy and devoted sons Michael A. Helm, William A. Helm, Christopher H. Helm, a daughter Florence E. Frye, and a step-daughter Deborah Bennett; sister Shirley Bishop, brother Charles Helm; ten grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. Memorial services will be held on Monday, February 9, 2004 at 1 P.M. at St. Monica's Episcopal Church, 7070 Immokalee Rd., Naples, FL, and in Baltimore at a later date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 990 First Ave. S, Naples, FL 34102 or to the Baltimore City Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #3, 3920 Buena Vista Ave., Baltimore, MD 21211
