Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Baltimore City

Northeastern District

Victim named: Nathaniel G. Brooks, 17, of the 700 block of Richwood Ave. was identified yesterday as the youth fatally shot about 6:30 p.m. Monday in the 1200 block of Ramblewood Road. He was killed moments after securing his 2-year-old nephew in the back seat of a car. The child was unharmed.

Southern District

Arrest: Craig Winkey, 22, of the 100 block of N. Hilton St. was arrested Monday at the state parole and probation field office on Guilford Avenue by members of the Warrant Apprehension Task Force on a charge of first-degree murder in the slaying of a man in October 1997. A warrant for Winkey was issued last week as a result of recent information obtained about the shooting of James T. Peoples, 19, in the 2400 block of Seabury Road.

Central District

Theft/arrest: Jeffrey Joynes, 42, of the 1900 block of W. North Ave. was arrested yesterday and charged with stealing whiskey valued at $26 from Rite Aid in the 300 block of W. Lexington St. Joynes also was charged with assaulting Charles Van Dele, a store security officer who detained him for police.

Western District

Carjacking: Rodney Hartley, 39, stepped from his 1993 Buick LeSabre in the 2400 block of Pennsylvania Ave. about 7:45 p.m. Monday when a gunman ordered him back into the vehicle and told him to drive. In the 2500 block of Salem St., the gunman ordered Hartley to stop, robbed him of $5 and stole the car with tags SRP 294.

Southwestern District

Robbery: Police were seeking two men in the robbery at gunpoint of Lovelace Lowe, 44. His wallet containing $164 was taken by the men about 9:45 p.m. Monday after he gave them a ride to the 1400 block of N. Dukeland St. A warrant has been issued charging one of the men - identified as the brother of Lowe's former girlfriend - with armed robbery.

Baltimore County

Cockeysville Precinct

Murder try/arrest: A man and his ex-wife were arguing Monday night in the woman's apartment in the first block of Hazy Dawn Court about who should feed their son, when the man was stabbed in the chest with a knife. Mark Gordon, 37, was listed in critical condition after being flown to Maryland Shock Trauma Center. Sonia Gordon, 36, was arrested and charged with attempted murder.

North Point Precinct

Theft/arrest: After allegedly stealing liquor from Drug City in the 2800 block of North Point Road about 10 a.m. Monday, a man drove off in a blue Chevrolet Corvette that was traced to a house a block away. Arrested, charged with theft and released on his own recognizance was Zane Wiatr, 46, of the 2700 block of North Point Road.
