On February 1, 2004, COLONEL EMIL M. ULANOWICZ, U.S. Army (RET), died from complications associated with Parkinson's Disease. He was 86. Devoted husband of 57 years to his recently deceased wife Edith. He is survived by his son Eric, Daughter Kim Walnes, and Brother Edward. Born in Baltimore MD. Emil was a highly decorated WWII Veteran and corregidor POW. Emil was greatly respected as an Army Officer and leader of men, earning the trust, admiration , and friendship of everyone who knew him. He was an accomplished wood carver, and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and reading. There will be a Graveside Service with Full Honors 9:00 a.m. Thursday, March 11, 2004 at Arlington National Cemetery. Memorial Donations may be made to the American Parkinson's Disease Association. Arrangements by Bucktrout of Williamsburg.
