2 men sought in bank robbery

February 03, 2004|BY A SUN STAFF WRITER

FBI officials in Baltimore sought help from the public yesterday in identifying two men who robbed a Wachovia Bank branch Saturday morning, in what authorities described as a brazen holdup, and was captured on surveillance cameras - including a sharp image of one of the bandits.

Authorities said the men, each displaying a semi-automatic handgun, held up the Wachovia branch at 1726 E. Northern Parkway. While one of the robbers held the bank's security guard at gunpoint, the other pointed his handgun and demanded cash.

Officials did not say how much money was taken. Anyone with information about the crime was urged to contact FBI investigators at 410-265-8080.
