Body identified as teen-ager from Severn missing since Dec. 10

January 29, 2004|BY A SUN STAFF WRITER

A body found in the woods in Hanover on Friday has been identified as that of a teen-ager whose bloody car was found last month in Millersville, Anne Arundel County police said yesterday.

Nicholas David Tonic, 18, of the 1700 block of Sea Pine Circle in Severn had been reported missing Dec. 10, the same day his 1991 Ford Escort was found in a townhouse community in Millersville.

Evidence in the vehicle led police to classify the case as a homicide.

County workers found the body early Friday, and the state medical examiner's office used dental records to confirm that it was Tonic's, police said.

Police would not disclose the cause of death and are investigating the case.

Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at 410- 222-3453.
