Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Baltimore City

Southwestern District

Arrest: A man about to be released yesterday from Central Booking and Intake Center, where he had been held on an assault charge, was arrested by members of the Warrant Apprehension Task Force on a charge of attempted murder and returned to the jail. David Brown, 23, of the first block of N. Monastery Ave. was charged with shooting James Gilmore, 33, of the 200 block of S. Loudon Ave. on Dec. 26 in the 4000 block of Frederick Ave.

Western District

Assault/arrest: A man and woman were arguing in a house in the 1000 block of Carrollton Ave. early yesterday when the man struck her with a crowbar. Another man intervened and struck the assailant with the weapon. After treatment at Bon Secours Hospital for a minor injury, Raymond Bell - whose age and address were not available - was charged with aggravated assault. The woman was not seriously injured.

Southeastern District

Stolen vehicle: A copper 1992 Mitsubishi Diamante with tags LSM 176 was stolen Tuesday from the 2700 block of Pulaski Highway.

Stolen vehicle: A green 1995 Dodge Caravan with tags 762462M was stolen Tuesday in the 5200 block of Foster Ave.

Baltimore County

White Marsh Precinct

Theft/arrest: A 17-year-old Baltimore boy was arrested Tuesday when he tried to leave Wal-Mart in the 6400 block of Petrie Way without paying for a computer and houseware items valued at $2,041. After trying to pay with an invalid credit card, he picked up the items and tried to leave but was detained by a store security officer. He was charged as a juvenile and released to his parents' custody.

Essex Precinct

Burglary: A snow blower and two yard-waste machines - all valued at $1,140 - were stolen Tuesday from a house in the 1700 block of Earhart Road in Middle River.

North Point Precinct

Burglary: Someone broke into a construction company's storage shed in the 4000 block of North Point Road between Jan. 23 and Monday and stole four chain saws valued at $2,200.

Franklin Precinct

Robbery: A gunman robbed the CVS Pharmacy in the 8300 block of Liberty Road of an undisclosed sum late Monday.

Woodlawn Precinct

Burglary: Someone broke into an apartment in the 2800 block of Diamond Ridge Road between Monday night and early Tuesday and stole a DVD player, videocassette recorder, 50 DVDs, clothing and a pair of tennis shoes. Police said the thief got past a burglar alarm and used a pillowcase to carry the loot, valued at $2,285.
