Great Fire revisited

If you ever had any burning questions about the most famous fire in Baltimore history, take the "Great Baltimore Fire of 1904 Tour" on Sunday at the Fire Museum of Maryland in Lutherville.

From 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., participants will go by motor coach from the museum to the epicenter of the historic blaze downtown and learn about the magnitude of the fire and its causes. Upon returning to the museum, light refreshments will be served and participants can examine mementos and antique equipment used to battle the Great Fire, while historians hold a question-and-answer forum. The tour will be repeated Feb. 8 at the same time.

Admission is $35 per person ($30 for museum members). The Fire Museum is at 1301 York Road in Lutherville. Call 410-321-7500 for more information.

Jazz for kids

Award-winning saxophonist Hayes Greenfield will perform his innovative family program "Jazz-A-Ma-Tazz" at two shows at 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Sunday on the stage of Howard Community College's Smith Theatre.

Hayes and his band will jazz up familiar popular songs, giving everyone a chance to be part of the show in a performance that will have audience members singing, conducting, moving and just plain be-boppin'. Greenfield has been active in New York jazz for decades and has recorded critically acclaimed CDs, scored more than 60 films and TV specials, and produced two award-winning short films.

Admission is $9. The Smith Theatre is on the campus of Howard Community College at 10901 Little Patuxent Parkway in Columbia. For reservations, call the Candlelight Concert Society at 410-480-9950 or visit www.candlelightconcerts.org.

'Disney on Ice'

Characters from Disney's The Lion King, The Jungle Book and Tarzan will be gliding onto the ice of the 1st Mariner Arena Wednesday through Feb. 8 when Disney On Ice arrives in town.

Disney favorites like Mowgli and Baloo from The Jungle Book and Timon and Pumbaa from The Lion King will come together on the arena floor for a rip-roaring good time. The production will feature high-flying stunts performed on the vine canopy overhead. Audiences will see Broadway-quality costumes and hear Academy Award-winning theme music such as "Can You Feel the Love Tonight," "You'll Be in My Heart" and "Bare Necessities."

Tickets are $10-$35. The 1st Mariner Arena is at 201 W. Baltimore St. Call 410-481-SEAT to reserve your tickets. Or visit www.disneyonice.com for more information.
