Westminster Ministerium to hold meeting tomorrow

The Westminster Ministerium will meet at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Westminster Church of the Brethren.

Christian ministers and those who work in specialized Christian ministries are welcome. The church is at Bond Street and Park Place.

Rotary Club plans banquet to raise money for projects

The Bonds Meadow Rotary Club will hold a Hearts of Gold banquet to benefit its community projects Feb. 14 at Wilhelm Ltd. Caterers in Westminster.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the dinner will be held at 7 p.m.

The club is selling 200 tickets for a grand prize of $5,000 or a pound of gold. Tickets to the dinner are $100 per person or $150 per couple (with one raffle ticket).

Cake-decorating class among events at library

Westminster branch library, 50 E. Main St., will offer:

Family Story Time for all ages (children 3 and younger must be with an adult) at 7 p.m. tomorrow, 1 p.m. Wednesday, 1 p.m. Thursday and 11 a.m. Saturday on "Perfectly Purple."

"Be an Ace Cake Decorator" for adults at 7 p.m. Feb. 2. Sharon Martin will demonstrate the techniques of cake decorating. Registration is required.

Book Discussion Club for adults at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 4 to discuss Falling Angels by Tracy Chevalier.

"Cinderella - A Winter Tale" for all ages (children age 3 and younger with an adult) at 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Feb. 3. Children can see if Cinderella finds her Prince Charming at the ball.

Westminster woman honored at the Citadel

Megan Alexandra McAuliffe of Westminster recently was honored for outstanding academic achievement during the fall semester at the Citadel, the military college of South Carolina.

She was named to the dean's list for students taking 12 or more credits who earned a 3.2 or higher grade point average.

She also earned a gold star to wear on her dress uniform for earning a GPA of 3.7 or higher.

She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Lee McAuliffe.

Leslie Brengle named to York College dean's list

Leslie Brengle of Westminster was named to the dean's list at York College in Pennsylvania for the fall semester.

Students must carry at least 12 academic credit hours and have a grade point average of 3.5 or better to make the dean's list.

She is the daughter of Kyler and Peggy Brengle.

Westminster: Craig and Serleste Bowser are the parents of an 8-pound son, Angelo Marcus, born Jan. 9 at Carroll Hospital Center.

Carroll County: Greg Winchester and Tricia Fleming are the parents of a 7-pound, 4-ounce son, Keegan Gregory Winchester, born at 8:12 p.m. Jan. 16 at Carroll Hospital Center.
