Discussion planned on desegregation

The Howard County Brown vs. Board of Education Planning Commission will present a panel discussion, "Remembering Desegregation," at 7 p.m. Thursday at Locust United Methodist church, 8105 Martin Road, at Freetown Road in Columbia.

Alumni of Harriet Tubman High School will participate in a panel discussion, and leaders of the community from 1954 to 1969 will attend.

The event is co-sponsored by the Howard County Branch of the NAACPand the Howard County Center of African American Culture. Light refreshments will be served. Admission is free.
