Modern Scent For A Sophisticated Man

Vera Wang has made a name for herself as the designer of modern, classic dresses that exude sophistication. She designs china, shoes, jewelry and women's fragrance and now she's created a fragrance for men, too.

Vera Wang for Men is an aromatic oriental scent that's a combination of mandarin leaf and yuzu, mixed with nutmeg, leather and anise and finished with sandalwood and tobacco. Like her designs, it's modern, fresh and timeless.

Vera Wang for Men fragrance ranges from $18 for deodorant to $65 for 3.4 ounces of eau de toilette. The line is available at Saks Fifth Avenue stores or for a store near you call 800-715-4023.

Winning Potions

What's as sweet as Paula, as nice as Randy and as fresh as Simon?

We don't know. But we can tell you that the American Idol folks have just come out with new men's and women's fragrances that, while they may not embody the characteristics of the popular TV show's judges, they have been voted on by the American public. Contestants lining up to audition for the show voted for the fragrance formulas while they were waiting to perform.

Idol Moments for Women ($8-$35) is a blend of bergamot, jasmine and vanilla. Idol Spirit for Men ($6-$35) is a combination of citrus, jasmine and sandalwood. We think they smell OK, but it's up to you to decide whether you like the scents.

American Idol fragrances are available at JCPenney stores and drug stores nationwide.

Look so berry nice

Variety for your lips

If it's Monday, wear the black pants and a jacket. Tuesday? Black pants and white shirt. Wednesday -- of course the black pants and the pink sweater.

It's true -- by this point in winter we're in a bit of a fashion rut for sure.

Shake off that cold weather funk with a swipe of Prescriptives A Kiss A Day lipstick. Seven shades ranging from Sepia (orange beige) to Toe Shoes (lavender pearl) come in the compact -- one for each day of the week, and there's a clear lip gloss too for extra shine. Now even if your clothing doesn't really change, your lipstick will. A lip brush is included for easy application. Not bad for $28.

Available at area department stores.
