A 31-year-old Washington man died yesterday morning in Jessup after he used the shoulder lane to pass a truck and lost control of his Mercury Sable while re-entering traffic, Howard County police say.
Police said that Michael James Watson, 31, of Galveston Road was traveling south on Dorsey Run Road when he passed a large box truck on the right shoulder at a high speed and crashed upon re-entering traffic, police said.
His car traveled across the northbound lane, hit an embankment and overturned, and he was ejected from the car, police said. Watson, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at Howard County General Hospital.
