New Positions

Novavax appoints Hage marketing vice president

Novavax Inc., based in Columbia, has appointed Raymond J. Hage Jr. to the post of vice president, marketing. He joins Novavax from CHS Inc., where he was an independent marketing consultant to pharmaceutical companies.

A graduate of the University of Kentucky, he received his master's degree in business administration from Ohio State University.

Banking and Finance

Livingston is bank COO, Elswick top lending officer

The Bank of Glen Burnie appointed Michael G. Livingston chief operating officer and Barbara J. Elswick chief lending officer for the North Anne Arundel County institution.

Livingston is responsible for all aspects of daily operations, collections, information systems, marketing and finance. A graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking, he is active with the Maryland Bankers Association, Rotary Club of West Anne Arundel County and Anne Arundel Economic Development Corp.

Elswick, with the bank for 29 years, administers all lending functions in the real estate, commercial, consumer and indirect lending departments, and has responsibility for originating loans and developing new lending programs and products.

Provident names Zelenak a senior vice president

Provident Bank named Steven E. Zelenak a senior vice president in commercial banking and appointed him sales manager of the Baltimore Commercial Banking Group. In this role, he oversees commercial relationship managers serving existing commercial customers and calls on prospective commercial businesses in the greater Baltimore market.

A certified public accountant, Zelenak received his M.B.A. from Rider University. Formerly with Healthcare Financial Partners, the Columbia resident is active in several civic associations including Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center and the Soccer Association of Columbia/Howard County, and he is a member of Atholton High School's Information Technology Academy.

Wachovia Wealth appoints Oldham trust associate

Wachovia Wealth Management appointed Margaret Oldham as a trust associate. She will support the senior trust adviser in the management and administration of trust, agency, estate and custodian accounts. Formerly with the U.S. Naval Academy Foundation, the College of Notre Dame of Maryland graduate is active in several organizations, including the Professional Researchers for Advancement and the Kent Island Defense League.

Terkowitz is a partner at ABS Capital

ABS Capital Partners, a private equity firm, said Ralph Terkowitz has joined the firm as a special partner. He will focus on companies within the media, technology and communications sectors and identify investment opportunities. He formerly was chief information and chief technology officer for the Washington Post Co.

He is on several boards of directors, including MicroStrategy Inc. and Tribe Inc. In addition, he is on the boards of advisers of the Indian CEO High Tech Council and the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
