Give Your Feet A Treat

Baby it's cold outside. The January winter muck is worth escaping from. If you can't hoof it to the Bahamas, deck your feet in a pair of fluffy UGG Australia slippers.

The thick, velvety sheepskin is soft and warm and the suede slipper looks rugged and cool. Available for men, women and children in a variety of styles and colors at www.nordstrom.com and Nordstrom stores. Prices range from about $40 to $85.

New clothes, new scent

Designers introduce new clothing lines twice a year. Why, then, do so many of them keep selling the same fragrances year after year?

We're not sure of the answer, but we do know that Diane von Furstenberg just launched a new line of fragrances that will be added to every other year. The first scent in the line is called "D" and is a fresh, feminine fragrance with hints of jasmine, lily of the valley and sandalwood.

A 100-milliliter spray bottle costs $75 and is available at Saks Fifth Avenue stores or at the Web site, www.saksfifthavenue.com.

Put your glow on

A little glamour goes a long way, which is why we were so happy to discover Retro Glow Shimmer lip balm. The slim little tin compacts contain shimmering pigments to give your lips a soft, healthy glow without a greasy finish.

Lip balms ($4.95) are available in golden bronze, mauve and clear. Buy them at CVS stores or, for a store near you, call 800-227-0333.

Staying warm and fluffy

Winter is murder on hair. It dries it out, fills it with static, flattens it like a pancake. And let's not even start with hat head.

We can't do anything about the temperature and its effect on one's 'do, but we can do something about that unsightly hat head. 180s ear warmers wrap behind the head, thus keeping hair in place.

The ear warmers crafted by this Baltimore-based company are cool and techno, not dorky. And they do a great job too. Plus they're available in a variety of styles suitable for running a marathon or making snow angels, are sized for kids and adults, and come in a wide selection of colors and fabrics from suede to fleece to high-tech performance. Just in case you were wondering, the company even sells headphones that fit perfectly under their earwarmers. Our locks are loving this.

180s ear warmers cost $20-$30 and are available online at Dick's Sporting Goods, Eastern Mountain Sports, L.L. Bean and at www.180s.com.
