Chauncey Leroy Lindsey, 61, BGE employee

Chauncey Leroy Lindsey, a retired Baltimore Gas and Electric Co. customer service representative, died of lung cancer Jan. 10 at Genesis ElderCare Randallstown Center. He was 61.

Mr. Lindsey, a longtime Pikesville resident, was born and raised in Baltimore and graduated in 1960 from City College. He attended what is now Morgan State University before serving in the Army from 1961 to 1963.

He worked for the U.S. Postal Service and later as a nursing home health care coordinator and as a salesman at Pep Boys before joining BGE in 1977. He retired in 2001.

Mr. Lindsey enjoyed photography. He was a Ravens football fan and collected jazz recordings.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. today at The Forum, 4210 Primrose Ave., Baltimore.

Survivors include his wife of 26 years, the former Bernice Gibbs; a daughter, Charlee Lindsey of Pikesville; a stepdaughter, Brigette Morrow of Lochearn; and a granddaughter.
