BRAVES: Signed executive VP and GM John Schuerholz (Towson State) to one-year contract extension through 2005 with option for 2006.

DEVIL RAYS: Agreed to minor league contract with P Mike Williams, who had been with Phillies.

UCLA: CB Matt Ware announced that he will forgo final year of college eligibility to enter NFL draft.

GEORGIA: Defensive coordinator Brian VanGorder won Broyles Award, given to nation's top assistant football coach.

INDIANA: Announced that M Ned Grabavoy has signed with MLS and will pass up senior season of college eligibility.

LE MOYNE: Northeast-10 named Pat Delaney (Old Mill) Diver of the Week.

U.S. ANTI-DOPING AGENCY: Announced that OF Terrmel Sledge, who is on Expos' 40-man roster, is second player on a major league roster to test positive for steroids; banned him from international competition for two years. Confirmed sprinter Mickey Grimes' positive drug test for ephedrine at 2003 Pan American Games.

USOC: Announced that Melissa Price, who won 2003 U.S. national title in June with hammer throw of 230 feet, 9 inches, tested positive for newly discovered steroid THG during that competition and in out-of-competition test.

Football

NFC: Added Packers TE Bubba Franks and Seahawks G Steve Hutchinson to Pro Bowl squad as injury replacements for Giants TE Jeremy Shockey and Saints G LeCharles Bentley.

CHIEFS: Announced resignation of defensive coordinator Greg Robinson.
