Mt. St. Mary's downs Quinnipiac, 83-72

Thompson scores 35 to lead Mountaineers

NEW HAVEN, CT. - Sophomore guard Landy Thompson scored a career-high 35 points, leading Mount St. Mary's to an 83-72 win over Quinnipiac Saturday.

With the win, the Mountaineers improve to 3-9 on the season.

Thompson was 18-of-23 from the free throw line in the game, breaking the school mark for free throws made in a game of 17. Freshman Mychal Kerse added 13 points and five rebounds for Mt. St. Mary's.

Mt. St. Mary's returns to action on Mon., Jan. 12, with an 8:00 p.m. game at Central Connecticut State.
