Rider used a late 15-6 run to pull away and defeat Loyola, 73-55, last night in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference women's game in Lawrenceville, N.J.

Katie Scherle scored a team-high 16 points for Loyola and Jackie Valderas added 10 for the Greyhounds (5-7, 1-2).

Becky Hower finished with 20 points to lead the Broncos (3-9, 1-2).

Loyola shot just 33.3 percent to Rider's 46 and committed 25 fouls and 27 turnovers, compared to Rider's 17 and 23.

Goucher 103, Delaware Valley 75: The Gophers (6-4) topped 100 points for the first time since the 1993-94 season as Stephanie Tolbert scored a game-high 34 and grabbed 10 rebounds in a win over the visiting Aggies (6-2).

Goucher out-rebounded Delaware 55-35, pulling in 21 offensive rebounds, and shot 58 percent in the second half.

Kate Guggino added 26 points and 11 rebounds for the Gophers, and Stacy Hollander contributed 16 points and nine assists.

Salisbury 75, Rowan 59: Megan Dowdy had 11 points and Jessica Mills and Jenna Peters scored 10 apiece to lead the host Sea Gulls (6-3) past the Profs (9-2) in a nonconference game.

St. Mary's 63, Richard Stockton 55: Megan Baskins finished with a game-high 22 points and Kristin Francis and Katie Greenberg scored 11 apiece as the Seahawks (3-7) defeated the host Ospreys (4-6).

Mary Kate Lenz scored 10 points for St. Mary's.

Men

Bowie State 87, North Carolina Central 65: Shawn Hampton scored 18 points and pulled down 15 rebounds, and Allen Van Norden and Anton Jenifer (Walbrook) each added 16 to lift the visiting Bulldogs (10-2, 5-1) in a Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association game.

David Young scored 14 to lead the Eagles (5-6, 1-1).

Juniata 91, Villa Julie 77: Anthony Fitzgerald posted game highs of 27 points and 26 rebounds and Mike Kastanakis added 24 points, but the Mustangs (4-6) could not get past the visiting Eagles (6-4) in a nonconference game.

Wade Henninger added 20 points for Villa Julie.
