Man in his 20s fatally shot in E. Baltimore

A man believed to be in his early 20s died last night at Johns Hopkins Hospital after being shot by an unknown assailant on a street in East Baltimore, city police said.

Shortly after 9 p.m., police responding to a report that a man had been shot in the 1500 block of Cliftview Ave., below Clifton Park, found the victim lying in the street.

The man, who was unresponsive, was bleeding from at least one gunshot wound to the back, police said.

Anyone with information about the shooting was urged to call Detective Joseph Phelps at 410-396-2100.
