On January 4, 2004 CARROLL "WILL" ROTH, Age 81, passed away at Memorial Hospital Martinsville in Martinsville, VA. Born October 16, 1922 in Baltimore, MD. He was the son of the late Charles and Florence Roth. He served during WWII in the US Army Air Corps as a crew chief of the B17 Bomber and later overseas in the Occupation Forces. He retired in 1981 from the Army Chemical Center in Edgewood, MD with 31 years service. He and his wife relocated to Collinsville, VA in 1991. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Martinsville, VA. His hobby was gardening and he loved working outdoors in his yard. He leaves to mourn his wife of 48 years, Meta Roth; daughter Sue R. Porter and her husband Timothy C. Porter of Collinsville, VA; son Jeffrey Roth and his wife Stacey Roth of Houston, TX; sister Florence Jordan of Florida; brother Elmer Roth of New Hampshire; grandchildren Paige and Walter Porter of Collinsville, VA, Andrew and Rebecca Roth of Houston, TX. Visitation at Norris Funeral Services Chapel on Wednesday, January 7 from 6 to 8 P.M. with funeral to follow at 8 P.M. Rev. Ron Mateer and Rev. Ferd Wagner officiating. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions may be made to either, Boy Scot Troop 166 of Collinsville, VA, First United Methodist Church, 146 E. Main St., Martinsville, VA 24112 or Fieldale-Collinsville Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 460, Collinsville, VA 24078.
