On Friday, December 26, 2003, JAMES RUSSELL ("Russ") ENGLISH, died in Charlotte, NC. He was born on January 5, 1924 in Balto. City, the son of the late Roland E., and Genevieve Johnson English. He graduated from McDonogh School and shortly after enlisted in the Navy, where he served as an aviator during World War II. In 1949, he earned his bachelor's degree from the Johns Hopkins University and began a career in sales and marketing of office data management products until his retirement in 1987. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Reed English, formerly of Baltimore, son Jay English and daughter, Lindsay English. Also surviving him is his former wife Ruth Anne Halada, and sons James T. English, David R. English, and Christopher C. English; daughters Daryl L. English and Vicki E. Montgomery; his brothers Roland E. English, Jr. and Edwin J. English; and four grandchildren. A private memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 4, at the Piedmont Unitarian Universalist Church, Charlotte, North Carolina. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
