Eldersburg library to be closed 2 days for construction

The Eldersburg library branch will be closed tomorrow and Tuesday for construction.

The branch will reopen Wednesday with regular hours.

Club to get demonstration of new voting machines

The Carroll County Democratic Club will meet at 7 p.m. tomorrow at Frisco Family Pub in Carroll Plaza Shopping Center on Englar Road, Westminster.

A demonstration of the new touch-screen voting machines will be given, and a mock election will be held. The new constitution and bylaws will be discussed.

An informal dinner will be held before the meeting.

Family center offers movies, crafts, activities

The Carroll County Family Center will offer activities for member families this month.

A Fun and Games Edition of the "Recipes for Success" class will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday. Foods will be prepared and prizes, including a Wal-Mart gift certificate, will be given away.

A "Beating the Winter Blues" class will be held at 1 p.m. Monday this month. Movies and crafts will be featured.

Parent/child activities this month will include: Winter Wonderland, tomorrow; Animals in Winter, Jan. 12; Snow, Jan. 19; and Hats and Mittens, Jan. 26.

The center will be closed Jan. 19 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

A Super Bowl celebration will be held from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Jan. 28. Games, crafts, a cheering competition and tailgate lunch will be featured.
