Equestrian Council announces officers, board of directors

The Carroll County Equestrian Council recently elected officers and a board of directors for 2004.

Officers are Carolyn A. Garber, president; Judy Taylor, vice president; Darlene Welsh, treasurer; Janet Breeding, recording secretary; Peggy Miller, Equestrian Center manager.

Board of directors members are Nell Faass, Marlene Perricone, Carol Sanders, April Stull and Joe Zentgraf.

Founded in 1984, the Equestrian Council operates with the Carroll County Department of Recreation and Parks to promote public equine recreational opportunities using parks, facilities, volunteers and local organizations.

Members who wish to receive mailings of council meeting minutes and program information are asked to make a $10 donation.

The Equestrian Council holds meetings at 7:30 p.m. the first Tuesday of each month at the County Office Building, 225 N. Center St., Room 003-004, Westminster. The public is welcome.

Tuesday's meeting will feature a program, "West Nile Virus Update," by Kim Mitchell, coordinator of West Nile Virus for the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
