Florida woman injured in Pasadena house fire

PASADENA - A Florida woman visiting her mother in Pasadena was rescued yesterday from a fire that spread through much of the two-story home in the 7600 block of Briar Lane, Anne Arundel County fire officials said.

Firefighters found Laura Lee Murphy, 51, on the floor below an open window in an upstairs bedroom. A neighbor, Barbara Dodd, had called 911 about 9:30 a.m., when she heard Murphy banging on that window.

Murphy was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where she was being treated for smoke inhalation.
